20 transgender aspirants get four-month coaching for Telangana Police recruitment
Twenty transgender candidates have been enrolled in a four month coaching programme for Telangana police recruitment. The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate is providing ₹3.5 lakh in government assistance for training and hostel accommodation.

The coaching programme is a response to the growing demand for inclusive recruitment practices within the state police force. By offering structured preparation for the written exam, physical tests and interview stages, the initiative aims to level the playing field for transgender aspirants who often face social and economic barriers. The funding of ₹3.5 lakh covers professional trainers, study materials and a safe hostel environment where participants can focus on their preparation without worrying about daily expenses.
The Telangana government has been encouraging diversity in public services, and this programme marks a concrete step toward that goal. Participants will receive guidance on topics such as law, general knowledge, reasoning and physical fitness, mirroring the curriculum used by other candidates. The hostel facility is located near the training centre, ensuring easy access to practice grounds and classrooms, and it follows security protocols to protect the privacy and dignity of the trainees.
Successful completion of the coaching does not guarantee a job, but it improves the chances of clearing the competitive selection process. If the candidates secure positions, it will send a strong signal to other states about the benefits of inclusive recruitment. For the transgender community in Telangana, the programme represents both an opportunity for stable employment and a step toward broader social acceptance.
