Allahabad University shifts classes online for November 4, 5; faculty to follow regular timetable: Check complete details here
Allahabad University announced that all classes on November 4 and 5 will be conducted online, while faculty members will continue to follow the regular in‑person timetable. The decision aims to minimise disruption for students while maintaining teaching schedules.
The university’s administration issued a notice stating that due to unforeseen circumstances, the institution will shift all lecture delivery to a virtual platform for the two‑day period of November 4 and 5. Students have been instructed to log in to the university’s e‑learning portal using their existing credentials, and faculty have been asked to upload lecture materials, conduct live sessions, and record any missed content for later access. This temporary move is intended to keep the academic calendar on track without forcing a full shutdown of campus activities.
In addition to the online shift for students, the university clarified that teaching staff will adhere to the normal on‑site timetable. Professors are expected to be present in their offices and attend departmental meetings as usual, ensuring that administrative functions and research supervision continue uninterrupted. The administration emphasized that the dual approach, online classes for learners and regular presence for faculty, helps preserve the quality of instruction while addressing the logistical challenges that prompted the change.
The decision has been welcomed by many students who rely on the university’s digital resources for coursework and examinations. It also reflects a broader trend in Indian higher education where institutions adopt hybrid models to cope with weather disruptions, public health concerns, or infrastructure issues. By keeping the teaching staff on campus, the university can quickly revert to normal operations once the short‑term obstacle is resolved, thereby safeguarding the academic progress of its large student body.
