Divorced woman can seek maintenance even if divorce was on ground of desertion: Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court decided that a divorced woman can claim maintenance from her ex-husband. This ruling is applicable even if the divorce was granted due to desertion. The court noted that she must not have remarried and be unable to support herself. Interim maintenance of Rs 4,000 was also ordered pending fresh consideration by the Family Court.
