Govt promoting Telangana as best destination for global investments: CM Revanth
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said the state is being positioned as a top destination for foreign investment. He urged the Samakhya Chamber of Commerce to help youth and women start businesses that will add to the national economy.
During a recent press conference, the chief minister highlighted recent policy reforms that have simplified land acquisition, reduced corporate tax rates, and introduced a single‑window clearance system for investors. These measures are intended to make Telangana more attractive to multinational corporations looking for stable regulatory environments. The government also pointed to the growth of the information technology sector in Hyderabad, which has drawn significant foreign capital over the past decade.
The chief minister specifically called on the Samakhya Chamber of Commerce, a body that represents a wide range of businesses, to launch mentorship programs for young entrepreneurs and women. He argued that empowering these groups would not only create jobs but also diversify the state's economic base beyond traditional industries. The chamber has previously organized startup incubators, and the new directive aims to expand those efforts across smaller towns and rural areas.
Analysts say that the focus on inclusive entrepreneurship could help Telangana meet its target of attracting $30 billion in foreign direct investment by 2030. By encouraging a broader segment of the population to participate in business creation, the state hopes to generate a more resilient economy that can weather global market fluctuations. The initiative also aligns with the central government's broader push for "Make in India" and "Startup India" programs, which seek to boost domestic innovation and export capacity.
