Jamia set to hold student body polls after 22 years

Jamia Millia Islamia has announced the revival of its students' union after a two-decade absence, a decision spurred by student activism. By May 15, 2027, the university plans to finalize the governance structure, leading to elections by August 27, 2027. This change comes in response to persistent protests, including an 18-day hunger strike, prompting the registrar to address student demands directly.
