India Women secured their eighth T20 Asia Cup championship with a decisive 72-run victory over Sri Lanka. Strong opening performances and a dominant bowling effort dismantled Sri Lanka's run chase in the final.
The Indian women's cricket team reclaimed regional supremacy by defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the T20 Asia Cup final, avenging their previous tournament defeat. A powerful opening stand built by Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana laid the foundation for a formidable total that put immediate pressure on the opposition. Sri Lanka's chase stumbled early against disciplined Indian bowling, featuring a standout four-wicket spell from Shree Charani that effectively broke the middle order. The victory highlights India's tactical depth and clinical execution on big stage matches. With this championship win, India reinforces its status as the dominant power in Asian women's cricket, providing significant momentum ahead of upcoming global ICC tournaments.
