SRM University-AP formalised a bilateral research accord with Italy's University of Rome Tor Vergata, initiating shared laboratory infrastructure and dual-degree academic pipelines. The pact connects researchers in Amaravati directly with European research funding frameworks and specialized laboratory equipment. The agreement reflects a broader effort by Indian private universities to bypass domestic administrative bottlenecks by building direct institutional bridges with European academic centers. Securing high-impact international co-authorships has become essential for Indian institutions striving to raise their global university rankings. Faculty and doctoral candidates at both institutions will immediately gain cross-border laboratory access, accelerating joint patent applications in material sciences and engineering. The initiative also establishes Amaravati as a growing hub for international academic collaboration in southern India.
